Dental Aligner Tracking App Making Treatment Easier for Patients and Clinics
A private orthodontic clinic in Luton came to Code Next with a common frustration their clear aligner patients kept losing track of which tray they were on, forgetting to swap aligners on time, and missing their check-up appointments. The clinic was also spending a lot of time on phone calls that could easily have been handled digitally.
We built them a mobile app that keeps patients engaged with their treatment from day one to the final tray.
What the App Does
- Personal Treatment Plan Each patient sees their full treatment journey in the app. They can see which aligner tray they are on, how many are left, and when they should move to the next one
- Progress Photo Uploads Patients take photos of their teeth at each stage and upload them directly through the app. The clinic can review them and send feedback without needing an in-person visit
- Treatment Journey Timeline A visual timeline shows every stage of the treatment, with before and after comparison photos so patients can see how far they have come
- Tray Change Reminders Automatic push notifications remind patients when it is time to move on to their next tray, reducing the number of calls to the clinic asking the same question
- Appointment Booking Patients book their check-up appointments directly in the app and receive reminders before each visit
- Secure Clinic Dashboard The dental team has a web-based dashboard to view all patient progress, review photos, update treatment plans, and send messages
Results
- Patient compliance with tray changes improved significantly fewer delays in treatment completion
